After a disappointing outing in the Premier League against Wolves, Tottenham have a chance to put things right quickly and keep up their 100% record in the Champions League.

Thomas Frank’s first away game in the competition comes against Bodo/Glimt, a side who Spurs have experience playing against from last season’s victorious Europa League campaign.

The boss will have learnt some lessons from the draw with Wolves, a game their manager, Vitor Pereira, believes his side should have won.

The biggest issue for the manager to solve is how to get the best out of summer signing Xavi Simons. Frank admitted Simons struggled against Wolves to impact proceedings.

We think the boss will have a plan to get the best out of the Dutchman, and The Spurs News have predicted the side who will look to make it two wins out of two in the Champions League.

Despite criticism coming his way for Wolves’ goal, Guglielmo Vicario will start in goal for a Spurs side desperate to return to clean sheets.

Right-back will see Pedro Porro return to the starting side, after Frank rested Porro for the draw against Wolves.

Cristian Romero will retain his place at the back. The Argentine’s passing has been as important this season as his ability to keep attackers out.

He will be joined at the back by Micky van de Ven, with the pairing keeping the likes of Kevin Danso waiting on the bench.

At left-back, Djed Spence will start, and be looking to return to his own good form after an underwhelming display against the Premier League’s bottom club.

Joao Palhinha has emerged as a clutch player as far as Spurs are concerned in front of goal, however it is his defensive capabilities that see him one of the first names on the teamsheet right now.

Alongside him, Pape Matar Sarr will return to the starting side. He came on off the bench against Wolves, however hasn’t started since the win over West Ham.

Ahead of those two, Xavi Simons will finally start a top-level game in the number 10 role. He has struggled to make a real impact on the left of attack.

The right-wing will again be occupied by Mohammed Kudus, who was unfortunate not to find the net against Wolves when he saw a goal disallowed for offside.

The opposite side will see a return for Brennan Johnson, who has a very good record in European competitions since he joined Spurs.

Up front, injury woes for Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani will see Richarlison handed another chance to keep up his strong start to the season.
