Tottenham Hotspur have beaten Aston Villa 4-1 in the Premier League.
It was a fixture that will absolutely delight Spurs supporters. In a game with chances few and far between, ultimately it was Ange Postecoglou’s side who were the more clinical, which ensured all three points.
The win sees Spurs move up to 7th in the Premier League, breathing down the necks of the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and the Villans for that elusive Champions League spot.
The Tottenham squad did fans proud today, and that is reflected in the player ratings.

Tottenham Hotspur player ratings vs Aston Villa
Guglielmo Vicario – 6
Didn’t have much to do in all honesty, and was somewhat at fault for the goal. Has a serious problem dealing with set pieces.
Destiny Udogie – 7
Looked knackered at times, but did an excellent job considering against a tough Aston Villa attack. Needs competition though to get him back to his very best.
Cristian Romero – 8
Tottenham’s best defender on the day. Looked really solid and a real shame he went off through injury. Ange Postecoglou will be hoping this isn’t serious.
Radu Dragusin – 7
Another solid outing for Radu Dragusin who is stepping up in Micky van de Ven’s absence. Will likely be needed in the future with an abundance of centre-back injuries piling up.
Pedro Porro – 7
Had the difficult task of dealing with Morgan Rogers for the majority of the fixture and did that well. A little at fault for the Villa goal, but that’s more so a wider Spurs issue.
Rodrigo Bentancur – 7
A questionable choice to take off Rodrigo Bentancur, but it paid off! The Uruguayan was excellent in the middle of the park.
Pape Matar Sarr – 8
What a performance in midfield from Pape Matar Sarr. The Senegalese star suppressed Unai Emery’s side expertly throughout and was equally as competent going forward. He is quickly becoming integral to Postecoglou’s setup and had another extremely good 90 minutes.
Dejan Kulusevski – 7
Dejan Kulusevski continues his phenomenal campaign with another solid performance against Villa. Was kept quiet for a while, but his tidy pass for Dominic Solanke’s winner showed once again his importance to Spurs. A big moments player.
Heung-Min Son – 8
Brilliant from the Tottenham captain for the first goal, and looked back to his dangerous self on his return. Despite being annoyed about being subbed off – it was the right decision to nurse the South Korean back in. He’s vital to the squad and will play a huge role this season once again.
Brennan Johnson – 8
Brennan Johnson scores again! He is quickly becoming one of the most prolific wingers in the league. Ran the lines brilliantly and was a dangerous presence against the Villans.
Dominic Solanke – 9
He’s finally arrived. This is why Spurs played big money for Solanke. His two goals ensured the win and will do him the absolute world of good going forward. Despite chances being few and far between, he took it when he needed to, and that needs to be commended.
Substitutes
Yves Bissouma – 7
Bissouma took Bentancur’s job and did it well. Solid!
Richarlison – 8
What a fabulous assist for Solanke’s second. Richarlison showed glimpses of brilliance before being subbed off after being subbed on through injury.
Ben Davies – 8
A few fans were a little worried seeing Davies come on to partner Dragusin, but did everything well! Astute performance from Davies.
Archie Gray – 6
Didnt really make an impact.
James Maddison – 8
What a free kick. That is simply James Maddison at his best.
