Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways against Crystal Palace in north London on Saturday and broke a long-standing record in the process.
Goals from Timo Werner, Cristian Romero and Heung-min Son secured what turned out to be a relatively comfortable 3-1 victory.
Eberechi Eze’s stunning free-kick on the hour mark came against the run of play but Ange Postecoglou’s men stuck to the task admirably at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs completely dominated the game and despite concerns over a lack of cutting edge in the final third, it was arguably the best we’ve seen from Tottenham since the turn of the year.

The statistics certainly reflected what was a dominant performance as we limited Palace to just 22 per cent possession on the day.
According to the statistics site Opta, we broke a 20-year record due to the number of passes completed by Postecoglou’s side on Saturday.
Tottenham break 20-year passing record against Crystal Palace
Postecoglou’s men completed a total of 728 passes against the Eagles.
This is the most Spurs have completed in a home game that Opta has on record, which is from 2003-04 onwards.

There have been some concerns amongst supporters in recent weeks as we’ve struggled to break down sides that defend deep.
The performance against Wolves was particularly worrying as we barely threatened Gary O’Neil’s side and looked devoid of ideas.
But the same cannot be said about the win over Palace as we created our fair share of opportunities, even before Oliver Glasner’s men opened the scoring against the run of play.
While our build-up can be slow at times, it’s refreshing to see a style of play being implemented under Postecoglou.
That’s largely down to the Aussie’s work behind the scenes at Hotspur Way and you’d imagine that we will only continue to improve under his guidance.
