Tottenham Hotspur produced quite possibly the biggest shock result of the Premier League season as they emphatically defeated Manchester City 4-0.
Spurs ended City’s 52-game run of being undefeated at the Etihad Stadium as Ange Postecoglou’s team once again got the better of Pep Guardiola.
Goals from Brennan Johnson, Pedro Porro and a James Maddison brace stunned the champions and handed the Lilywhites a much-needed three points.
After the win, the away side’s supporters picked out one duo in particular who played a key role in stunning the champions.

Tottenham fans laud Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr partnership
Tottenham fans have been full of praise for both Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr who bossed Man City at the Etihad. The midfield duo did not allow the hosts any time on the ball and provided so much energy to Postecoglou’s team.
Following Rodrigo Bentancur’s seven-match suspension, Tottenham were concerned about who would replace the Urugyian with Bissouma having struggled to find any form this season.
However, despite picking up the earliest yellow card (15 seconds) since Sadio Mane in 2022, Bissouma answered that question in quite brilliant style. Meanwhile, Sarr continues to step up his levels, which have sent Spurs fan crazy on X.
One supporter said: “Sarr and Bissouma bossing that midfield and we are ripping them open with ease.”
“That Tottenham midfield, Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison is making Manchester City players look like kids running around. They can’t deal with them,” added another fan.
How Pape Matar Sarr stats looked vs Man City
Sarr started the season quite slowly, but over the past month or so, the Senegalese international has been hitting the heights he was when Postecoglou first arrived.
The 22-year-old just seemed to cover every inch of the pitch at the Etihad as he caused City’s midfield so many issues across the afternoon.
