Tottenham Hotspur’s Brennan Johnson has received big praise from Spurs fans on social media following his display on Saturday.
The Welshman came on as a second-half substitute for Rodrigo Bentancur with Ange Postecoglou’s side chasing the game.
And he had a huge impact on the game as the Lilywhites were able to turn the game around and take all three points.

Brennan Johnson impact substitute
Even though Richarlison was missing through injury, Johnson was not handed a start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, he did come on in the second half to provide the home side with a boost. And he did exactly that as he provided two assists in his 27 minutes on the pitch.
Johnson has now provided league six assists this season which is more than Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes.
And it was clear the Spurs fans were all thinking the same thing when they took to X to hail the 22-year-old’s display.
Johnson to start vs Villa
The Welshman only came on with less than half an hour to go and he flipped the game on its head.
He did miss a golden opportunity for himself before providing the first of his two assists.
But that only goes to show the mentality developing from the youngster as he did not let the miss put him down.
Instead, he battled away to provide an impressive assist for Timo Werner’s first goal as a Spurs player.
He capped off his performance with an assist for Heung-min Son and has to have asked the question ahead of next weekend.
It’s a huge top four clash against Aston Villa and Johnson’s display has surely made Postecoglou question who to start on the wings.
