Tottenham Hotspur lost to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
First-half goals from Brennan Johnson and James Maddison put Ange Postecoglou’s side firmly in the ascendancy on the South Coast – before Yankuba Minteh pulled one back after the break.
It then went from bad to worse for the visitors. Georginio Rutter equalised before Danny Welbeck put the Seagulls ahead at the Amex Stadium.
Despite the disappointing result, the shining light in the Tottenham Hotspur side was once again the Welsh wizard Johnson – who kept us his prolific goalscoring run.

Tottenham fans on Brennan Johnson
Johnson now has six in six for Spurs, which has left Tottenham supporters in awe of his efforts despite some recent trauma.
Johnson was subject to online abuse at the beginning of the season, which caused the 23-year-old to delete his Instagram account. Since then – it’s safe to say he’s bounced back with aplomb, which Tottenham supporters can only admire.
“The way Brennan Johnson has reacted to criticism from the Spurs fans should be studied,” one said.
Another adds: “He has shut the mouths in the field. That’s how a player should react.”
“Pretty sure Brennan Johnson has scored in every game since he got hate. One way to silence the haters lool,” another says.
One more adds: “Brennan Johnson took his criticisms personally. Fair play to the kid, heart of his pops.”
Brennan Johnson demolishing his Tottenham records
Johnson has now scored in his last six games for Spurs – a phenomenal record for the Spurs first-team squad.
- vs Coventry
- vs Brentford
- vs Qarabag
- vs Manchester United
- vs Ferencvaros
- vs Brighton
This means he has now scored more goals in his last six games (6) than he managed in the whole of last season (5).
Fantastic work from the Spurs prodigy, and despite the result, long may it continue from an individual perspective.
