Tottenham fans call for Ange Postecoglou to drop £45M star who was dribbled past five times vs Fulham

Tottenham Hotspur limped to a 1-1 draw at home to 10-man Fulham as injuries took their toll on Ange Postecoglou’s team who looked well off the pace.

Spurs had five starters out injured against the Cottagers whilst Dejan Kulusevski was only fit enough to start on the bench. The Lilywhites looked so sluggish for 90 minutes as they failed to win yet again following a Europa League midweek match.

During the match, the North London club’s supporters all called for one of their key players to be dropped following his shocking performance in the draw with Fulham.

Tottenham fans couldn’t understand Ange Postecoglou’s decision to keep Pedro Porro on the pitch whilst Djed Spence was just sat on the bench. The Spaniard looked exhausted against Fulham and was partly at fault for the away side’s goal.

Tom Cairney was given so much space to smash home his effort from inside the penalty area with Porro having lost his man. The 24-year-old looks fatigued having played a lot of football recently and little options to rest him, especially with Spence not in the Europa League squad.

Porro has played 90 minutes three times in the last seven days so it is no wonder the Real Madrid target looks knackered. Now, fans have taken to X and called for Postecoglou to give Porro a rest and Spence his chance in the team.

One supporter said: “Porro was genuinely atrocious, the type of performance that should lose you the starting spot for a game.”

Another supporter blamed Porro’s poor display on fatigue: “I’m not even mad at Porro for a poor performance. Looked exhausted and has played three full 90 minutes in a week. Ange’s use of the squad has been really poor so far this season. Running players into the ground.”

“Depressing performance, couldn’t find a result against a 10-man Fulham side. Djed Spence has to start over Pedro Porro next game,” said another fan.

How bad was Pedro Porro vs Fulham?

It most certainly was an afternoon to forget for Porro who was dribbled past a shocking five times by the visitors. The defender once again showed his frailties inside his own penalty area as Tottenham conceded another goal from his side.

Porro won just four of his ten ground duels and had a pass completion record of just 76 percent. The right-back also lost possession for the hosts on 17 occasions.

Tottenham have another game away at Bournemouth on Thursday and that may be the time for Spence to make his first start of the season and Porro to be given some rest.
