Micky van de Ven was left seriously impressed by one Tottenham Hotspur player in their recent victory over Luton Town.
Although Spurs made it hard work for themselves at times, Ange Postecoglou’s side were able to claim all three points.
It may have only been a temporary return to the top four – following Aston Villa’s game against Wolves – but Spurs were able to put their loss to Fulham to bed.
Another sloppy first-half from the Lilywhites saw Spurs come out of the blocks in the second 45 minutes in what is becoming typical Tottenham style.
What Micky van de Ven said about Brennan Johnson
One change was made by the Australian manager at half time with Dejan Kulusevski being replaced by Brennan Johnson.
It was a substitution which turned out to be a masterstroke with the Welshman providing an instant impact.
The 22-year-old will only be credited with one assist for the afternoon, but he did cross the ball for the equalising own goal.
Having then teed up Heung-min Son for the winning goal, the £70k-per-week player took to Instagram to post a photo with the very simple caption, ‘Yes’.
And it was fair to say his teammates were seriously impressed by his display with Guglielmo Vicario replying, ‘Game changer’ and Micky van de Ven simply said, ‘Top’.

Brennan Johnson stats vs Luton
The Welshman came into the game against the Hatters on the back of a mixed international break.
Johnson had scored in Wales’ first game, however, he was withdrawn before the full-time whistle of regular time in their crunch game against Poland which they lost on penalties.
Despite showing some fine form of late, the 22-year-old did find himself back on the bench with Timo Werner coming back into the side.
But the Welshman made an instant impact on the game when Postecoglou did give him the nod at half time.
Here is a run down of Johnson’s stats against Luton.
- 45 minutes played
- 1 assist
- 1 big chance missed
- 29 touches
- 3 key passes
- 2/2 ground duels won
- 2x was fouled
- 1 tackle

It really was a substitute display which transformed the game for Spurs and will leave Postecoglou with a big decision to make on who to start against West Ham.
Spurs do not have to wait long for their next Premier League game with a trip to the London Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Swede has been struggling for consistency since the turn of the year, whereas, Johnson is now in a real rich vein of form.
Kulusevski has been a regular figure in the starting XI this season, but his recent displays may see him replaced on Tuesday.
