Igor Tudor believes now is not the time for talking when asked whether Tottenham might sack him after losing 5-2 to Atletico Madrid.
The Croatian manager has now lost all four of his matches as interim manager, and the club have lost six in a row for the first time in their history.
Fill in the blank: Tottenham should _____ Igor Tudor after losing 5-2 to Atletico Madrid…
Meanwhile, Spurs’ Champions League hopes look all but over following a 5-2 humiliation in the Spanish capital on Tuesday evening.
After the game, Tudor was asked about his future as interim coach, and he refused to comment on whether he would be given time.
Igor Tudor dismisses Tottenham sack talk
Igor Tudor refused to answer whether he felt Tottenham Hotspur would give him the time to turn things around in North London.
When asked about the team’s form, Tudor told TNT Sports: “I need to help, I need to keep working. I said, I’m not speaking too much and stay focused on things we can do.
“Unbelievable! Difficult to explain everything. It’s the first time in my career, 15 years, so what I can tell you is that my focus is to resolve the problem, the players also. We need to stay positive.”
When asked whether he thought he would be given time to turn things around, he added: “It’s not about me in this moment to explain much; we need to stay calm and talk less.”
Djed Spence sarcastically shook Tudor’s hand after being subbed off, which was quite a telling sign of how the players view the manager.
RIGHT or WRONG: Was Igor Tudor right to sub off Antonin Kinsky after just 17 minutes?
Tudor is also being scrutinised for his decision to start Antonin Kinsky and then haul him off after 17 minutes following two mistakes.
Tottenham have already been looking at alternatives to Tudor and now face a huge decision to change managers less than a month after sacking Thomas Frank.
The season has become a total farce, but after another humiliating defeat to Atletico Madrid, yet more damage has been done.
