Eni Aluko has revealed that there is a Tottenham player who she ‘feels sorry for’ following the team’s 3-2 defeat away at Galatasaray.

Spurs’ 100 per cent start to the Europa League was brought to an abrupt halt as Galatasaray ripped them apart in Istanbul. The occasion appeared to get the better of Ange Postecoglou’s team who looked a nervous wreck in the first 45 minutes and were the architects of their own downfall.

After the match, the TNT Sports pundit explained why she felt sorry for one of Tottenham’s players whose evening very quickly went from 100 to zero.

Will Lankshear becomes Tottenham’s youngster scorer in Europe since Harry Kane

Will Lankshear had such a mixed evening as he became the North London club’s youngster goal scorer in Europe since Harry Kane back in 2011.

Lankshear finished off a nice move from Tottenham as Archie Gray played a sumptuous ball over the top for Brennan Johnson who played a first-time ball into the path of the young striker.

However, his night quickly turned sour as he was shown a second yellow card and sent off for two reckless challenges on Galatasaray players.

Rams Park was a very tough stadium to be making just his second senior appearance and hopefully, the 19-year-old will have learned a lot from his performance in Turkey.

Aluko: “I feel sorry for Will Lankshear”

Aluko has admitted that she felt sorry for Lankshear as his big moment of scoring his first senior goal was marred by the red card.

She believes that Postecogou threw him into the lion’s den and just as he was showing an ability to handle the occasion, he was dismissed for a second yellow.

Speaking on TNT Sport, Aluko said: “I feel sorry for Will Lankshear. The pressure of the occasion and I feel bad that he got sent off. It could have been a good night for him.”

The teenage star should take great confidence from the goal and know that he was put in a very tough situation making just his second senior appearance at an arena like Rams Park.
