Tottenham Hotspur may have been handed a potential boost ahead of their game on the weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion.
We return to action on Saturday looking for revenge against the Seagulls following a 4-2 defeat back in December.
However, the visitors will be missing a key figure on the sidelines with their manager, Roberto De Zerbi, set to watch the game from the stands.
Roberto De Zerbi suspended for Tottenham clash
Tottenham’s opponents on the weekend will be without their manager for the game as he serves a touchline ban, as per reports.
De Zerbi will also be missing from any pre and post-game media duties following recent dental surgery he has undergone.
The Italian’s absence may come as a relief to some in N17 after the events which took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season.
Acting head coach Cristian Stellini and his compatriot clashed during our 2-1 win over the Seagulls with the Brighton man accusing Stellini of disrespecting him.
Tension had been brewing from the get-go with De Zerbi taking offence to comments made by Stellini to the media before the whistle had even blown.
Three huge points on the line
Going into the game, Brighton sit well adrift of Spurs in the Premier League table, however, three points and an Aston Villa loss would see us return to the top four.
Ange Postecoglou will have the likes of Yves Bissouma and club captain Heung-min Son to potentially select following their returns from their respective international tournaments.
And it feels like one of those games where we will need to be at it to come away with all three points.
Brighton have already showed us this season just how much of a threat they can be. After all, we did find ourselves 4-0 down before two late consolation goals eased the scoreline in December.
But the players should be going into this game on Saturday with revenge on their minds.
