Ange Postecoglou was handed a fresh injury blow after Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Burnley on Saturday.

Spurs ended a run of four consecutive Premier League defeats by picking up a 2-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Micky van de Ven netted a late winner for Spurs to keep their slim hopes of a top-four finish alive.

Ange Postecoglou has since confirmed that Yves Bissouma will miss the remainder of the season after picking up an injury in the win over Burnley.

Tottenham could take the race for a top-four finish down to the final day with a victory over Manchester City tonight.

A positive result for the Lilywhites would also hand their north London rivals the opportunity to be crowned champions on the final day.

Postecoglou has insisted that match-going fans won’t want to see anything other than a Tottenham win, which hasn’t gone down well with supporters on social media.

But the Aussie boss also faces a key selection decision in midfield with Bissouma sidelined and he could opt to start Rodrigo Bentancur as his replacement.

Bentancur likely to start for Tottenham vs Man City

Bissouma started from the off in the win over Burnley and was replaced by Bentancur with 15 minutes to go.

The Uruguayan midfielder put in an encouraging display and according to The Evening Standard, he could get the nod tonight.

Indeed, the outlet claims that Bentancur is likely to replace Bissouma while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is another option.

Bentancur’s stats vs Burnley

Bentancur has struggled to produce the form he managed in his first year at Spurs after picking up an ACL injury back in February last year.

The 26-year-old also suffered an ankle injury against Villa back in November in what was his first start in nine months.

Despite his struggles in recent months, his cameo against Burnley was an encouraging one. The £21 million midfielder made an undeniable impact on the game as he helped Postecoglou’s men progress the ball up the pitch with more haste.
