Cristian Romero has been spotted with the Tottenham Hotspur squad in Manchester after Ange Postecoglou said he was a doubt for Sunday’s game.
Spurs will be hoping to continue their recent upturn in form by picking up a win at Old Trafford today.
Ange Postecoglou will be boosted by the return of Micky van de Ven, who was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Burnley last Friday.
New signings Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin are also expected to be part of the squad after joining Spurs this week.
Romero has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the 2-1 win over Everton last month.
Postecoglou admitted on Friday that the Argentine has only just returned to full training and today’s game may be ‘too close’ for him.
“The only one to join the main group today is Romero and that’s it I think,” the Spurs boss told Football.London. “He’s just started training so it’s fair to say it might be a bit close this weekend.”
But Romero was spotted with the Tottenham squad as they arrived in Manchester on Saturday evening.

Romero with the Tottenham squad ahead of Man United clash
In a video posted on TikTok, Romero can be spotted arriving at the team’s hotel along with his Spurs teammates.
Both Werner and Dragusin were also with the squad as Postecoglou prepares for a difficult test at Old Trafford.
Romero has only featured four times since being sent off in the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea back in early November. The 25-year-old missed the next three due to suspension and picked up a hamstring injury last month.
Having him and Van de Ven back for today’s game would be such a massive boost for Postecoglou.

Tottenham made an exceptional start to the season with the duo at centre-back as they were yet to taste defeat in their opening 10 games.
Of course, Spurs fans shouldn’t read too much into the fact that Romero is with the squad ahead of the United game.
It could well be that the £42 million defender is named amongst the substitutes after only returning to training a couple of days ago.
But if he is ready to play, then you’d imagine that Postecoglou will chuck him straight back into the starting XI, alongside Van de Ven.
The Aussie boss will also have Dragusin as an option and if Romero isn’t fit, we could see the Romanian make his full debut today.
